Swimming is beneficial

The benefits include being physically fit and seeing improved concentration and emotional health too.

Jordan Julius writes:

During the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020, the word ‘wellness’ became a buzzword in organisations, the media and almost everywhere

The dictionary definition of wellness is ‘the state of being in good health, especially as an actively pursued goal’.

The World Health Organisation defines wellness ‘as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being’ and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

Swimming is one of the best sports that teenagers can participate in to enjoy optimal wellness.

You get the following from swimming – there are different strokes, such as freestyle, breaststroke, sidestroke, backstroke and butterfly.

Water is 800 times more dense than air, so teenagers who swim will get a real workout too for their entire body from head to toe.

This helps to build muscles and strength, sleep is improved and your mood is boosted.

It also helps to manage stress. Teens go through a lot of anxiety and stress and swimming will ease anxiety, and improve social skills as we interact with each other.

There are also mental benefits from swimming.

Teenagers will be able to focus better at school and develop a positive mindset as their social skills improve. It will also help to perform optimally academically.

Best of all? Swimming is Fun!

To improve your wellness, start swimming.
