What a lot of nonsense!
There could be nothing simpler that turning the Sophiatown bus into a feeder route to compliment Rea Vaya and run it from Sophitown across Kingsway, up to Brixton, touch Mayfair west and the northern part of Fordsburg (shopping at the Plaza) and then through Vrededorp into town.
But no – the powers at the City of Johannesburg elected to discontinue its services.
It will now cost us R8 taxifare to go from Shoprite down to the Helen Joseph Rea Vaya stop and the pay again to go to town or wherever.
Clearly someone has not applied his mind.
