OPINION: The perfect steak sauce

Whether you’re braaing, frying or grilling, this simple steak sauce will have every guest asking for the recipe.

As is the case with most good cooking, the idea and process is simplicity itself.

Ingredients:

one onion
garlic cloves
mushrooms
5 ml flour
5 ml Worcestershire sauce
2 drops Tabasco
50 ml dry sherry

Method: 

Grate together one onion and at least two cloves of garlic.
Add as many chopped mushrooms as may take your fancy.
Fry the onion, garlic and mushroom mixture for two minutes.
Add all the other ingredients, simmer for ten minutes and pour over the steaks.

It even makes a poor cut of meat taste wonderful!
