The Grade 8 fun day at Roosevelt High School was a great success

The new learners to the school were treated to an inflatable gladiator obstacle course and a braai which helps welcome them into the Roosevelt family.

Roosevelt High School held its annual Grade 8 fun day which was thoroughly enjoyed by all who participated.

The event is looked forward to by all new learners of the school and is a great way for them to be welcomed into the Roosevelt family. It is also important for them to understand the true spirit of the school which not only excels academically, but promotes friendships, collaboration, and fun.

Grade 8 pupils are briefed about the day’s activities before they begin the obstacle course.

It was also a reason for Grade 8s to spend some time with each other outside of the classroom.

This interesting obstacle course was erected which all the learners enjoyed.

Organised by the grade managers, there was a challenging gladiator inflatable obstacle course and other activities. The different classes competed against each other to foster healthy competition while egging each other on with war cries.

Following the exertions of the morning, the school hosted a braai for them which went a long way to helping the learners establish new friendships and a sense of belonging.

Itumeleng Seema in Grade 11 is also a school committee member.
