This morning, reports of gunshots and the presence of five suspects emerged around Soutpans Avenue and Maluti Avenue in Northcliff, prompting a swift response from several private security companies, including Beagle Watch and SCP Security.

Upon receiving the alert, security teams mobilised to the area, where it was reported that the suspects had jumped over walls from private residences in the vicinity.
In addition to the immediate response, other partner security companies were placed on standby, deploying drones and a K9 unit to assist in the search. Search efforts extended to multiple locations, including the Northcliff Eco Ridge near the water tower, Botha’s Farm, and down to the open fields near the E-Toll offices close to 14th Avenue.
Despite extensive efforts, no suspects were located. We extend our gratitude to all parties involved in the response, especially Beagle Watch and SCP Security, for their ongoing updates to residents throughout the search. This incident serves as a crucial reminder for all residents and businesses to remain vigilant at all times.

Additionally, the security teams urge residents associated with a private security company to test their alarm systems at least once a month to ensure they are functioning correctly. Before conducting any tests, please inform your private security company so they are aware of the situation.
“This incident is now cold as the suspects have disappeared”, says Bhaai Cassim, secretary for the CPF and volunteer with the Victim Support unit.
