Local learner believes the guitar is the ultimate musical instrument
The ease at which it can be carried around and the wide range of notes it can play says Daniel makes it superior to other instruments.
Daniel Raphels from Brandcliff House Private School in Fairland describes his relationship with the guitar.
This is what he had to say:
The guitar is an exceptionally special and surprisingly common and popular instrument.
I think that is because there’s a special kind of freedom that the guitar allows for. You can find any note almost everywhere on the instrument which I feel gives it more room for creativity and fluidity over instruments like the piano.
No other instrument can be used to play the melody, rhythm and percussion involved in a song as well as the acoustic guitar.
The portability of the instrument makes it easy to pick up and immediately you become lost in your own mind at any time and in any place.
It is said too often that you shouldn’t compare your abilities to the abilities of others, and I feel that this phrase has lost all meaning.
I feel that this principle holds a lot of truth when speaking about music.
Music is yours. It’s above what makes you happy, so the opinions and abilities of others are completely irrelevant.
This personal factor that the guitar provides me with is what I truly love.
It feels like a friend that will always be by your side and will never let you down.
