Bygone-era furniture and antiques live harmoniously next to more modern items in Greymont

Long Road in Greymont is the perfect place to unwind and do a little quiet pavement shopping unlike elsewhere in the city

Long Road snakes between the suburbs of Greymont, Albertskroon and Albertville and is a joy to visit if you are interested in antiques, second-hand furniture and window shopping. Known colloquially as ‘Antique Street’ it is a treasure trove where items on sale change as they are sold, so no two visits will be the same.

The small owner-run shops are a breath of fresh air from malls and modern consumerist shopping experiences.

Buildings alongside it are brimming with creatives who make, fix or adorn furniture, antiques and other items with enough variety to ensure there is something for everyone.

The pavements are beautifully dressed with interesting items enticing passersby, be they serious shoppers or those who are just spending time exploring what is on offer.
