A high tea to close off Women’s Month

Curro Victory Park hosted some of the women within our community to a special event at their school.

To close off Women’s Month, Curro Victory Park hosted women of the community to a lavish high tea at the school.

According to the school’s marketer Rezaana du Toit, the core purpose of the event was to honour and celebrate the strong, nurturing women that shape our community.

“We wanted to create an authentic opportunity for mothers, daughters, sisters, aunties, grandmothers, and all women to bond, build meaningful relationships and have fun,” she said.

Along with this, the event served as a way to showcase the school hall, which was previously a chapel.

The school is quite new to the community and currently boasts a bold class of 30 Grade 8s, and next year they will add a Grade 9 class.

Guests are handed cupcakes for them to decorate.

Invited to the event were mothers of learners, community members from Linden CPF, the current Mrs South Africa, school staff and models from Ace Models. Activities on the day included a fashion show by Ace models, motivational talk by Mrs South Africa and the opportunity for each one to decorate their own cupcakes. A task each of the ladies enjoyed.

Du Toit explained that as a school, when it comes to the community, they hope to create a positive culture of contribution where learners, parents and staff can make a difference in environments beyond the confines of the school. “We hope to aid the community with various community projects including a hydroponics fresh produce project, food and blanket drives as well clean-up projects.” She also said they hope they add value to the community’s already established educational and economic infrastructure as they hope to create more opportunities for sustainable growth.
