Cooking runs in the family

Molemo is a second-year student at the University of Johannesburg

My name is Tshireletso Molemo. I am 20 years old, and I love cooking. I am outgoing, optimistic, confident, bubbly, hardworking, and smart. I am studying Bachelor of Accounting at the University of Johannesburg. I am in my final year and I love cooking.

I was first introduced to cooking by my mother who is a great cook. From then on, I embraced it and I started to take it seriously and I even turned it into a business. I sell food to students on weekends when I am not studying or do not have classes.

I started my business because people complimented me every time I cooked for them. So, I decided to use my hobby to generate money. So far, the business is doing well, and I am able to balance it with my studies.

I always get excited when I cook for people, and they enjoy the food that I cook. It gives me the motivation to always want to cook more. Seeing the joy on their faces and hearing their compliments fuels my passion for cooking, pushing me to constantly experiment with new flavours and techniques. It’s incredibly rewarding to create dishes that not only satisfy their taste buds but also create lasting memories around the dining table.
