Women’s Month means everything to Matshidiso

Women`s Day is celebrated on August 9 of every year.

Matshidiso Mothabela writes:

Women’s Month means a lot to me because it is the time when we celebrate our rocks, which are women. It is a special occasion to honour the incredible contributions and achievements of women throughout history. Women’s Month serves as a reminder of the strength, resilience, and determination that women possess, inspiring future generations to strive for gender equality and empowerment. I am happy to be celebrating this Women`s Month.

I am proud to say that my mother is one of these inspiring women as she made sure that I am where I am today. She has always been a strong role model for me, constantly encouraging and supporting my dreams and aspirations. Her dedication and hard work have shaped me into the confident and determined individual I am today.

I think that women should be celebrated every day because they are pillars of strength, resilience, and compassion in our society. Their contributions to various fields, from science and politics to arts and education, have shaped the world we live in today. It is crucial to recognise and appreciate their accomplishments, as well as continue striving for gender equality in all aspects of life.

I am thrilled to embrace the joy of being a woman and celebrate this month with pride. It is an empowering time to honour the achievements and contributions of women throughout history, while also recognising the ongoing fight for gender equality.
