What it is like to be a first-year student at Wits
His love and passion for teaching motivates him to want to change the lives of young people.
I am Mahlangu Sanele and I am 20 years old. I am studying for a Bachelor of Education at the University of Wits. The reason I chose education is because of the passion I felt when I was hired to teach learners at my home town school during my gap year.
I feel like I was drawn to the field of education and I also feel teaching chose me, it was a calling. I want to make a positive impact in the lives of the children that we educate.
I also believe that teachers have the power to motivate and inspire learners. I chose to study at the University of Wits because of its academic excellence.
It was hard for me to adjust in my first year of studies but I managed to cope and excelled.
I am looking forward to completing this degree in record time and start changing and shape young minds.
