King David Victory Park Primary School recently inaugurated its very own radio station, VP Voice.
Gabriella Seymour: I want to be a DJ because I just want to make good music and let people have fun.
Its DJs are the school’s vibrant class of Grade 7 learners who will host a show in pairs throughout the year. Allowing each one the opportunity to have their thoughts and voices heard by their peers.
Sasha Goldberg: I want to be a DJ because I want people to be able to hear different opinions and hear my voice.
Who are some of these voices that will be heard across the grounds and why did they want to be DJs?
Jesse Emmanuel: I wanted to be a DJ because it’s cool and I really like to talk. Especially about sport, one of my favourite sportsmen is Tiger Woods.
The young broadcasters let us know why they wanted to be part of VP Voice and here is what they had to say:
Gabriel Bertoldi: I wanted to be a DJ because it felt like a nice opportunity to be part of the VP Voice and to be one of the first to be part of this in our school.Cameron Kupritz: I thought this would be a great way to show the rest of the school how fun and inspiring music can be. My favourite genre is hip-hop.Ronen Yanai: I like talking to other people and I guess it would be great to speak to people indirectly, this feels nicer. There is so much interesting stuff happening around the world and I also find it great fun to commentate.
