Zandile receives an award at UJ Youth Tech Expo

Nobuhle has been unemployed for eight months before being allowed to uplift her skills.

My name is Zandile Hlatshwayo and I am one of the individuals that was given an award at the Youth Tech Expo (YTE) hosted by e-Gov at the University of Johannesburg. I am 20 years old. I have acquired a skill in business entrepreneurship, health and safety, sewing and manufacturing reusable sanitary pads using industrial machinery. I have learned about the cutting of the material, fleece, and inners for sanitary towels. I am excited to see what the future holds.

The training from EOH (Enterprise Outsourcing Holdings) and Afribiz helped me by getting skills that no one can take away from me. The stipend from EOH and Afribiz helped me out because with this stipend I’m able to help out at home by buying groceries, buy myself cosmetics and I’m also able to take some cash and save it for my registration fee since I want to pursue my studies further.

I was unemployed for months before these organisations allowed me to be part of the training and I am grateful because if it wasn’t for them; I wouldn’t have acquired the skills that I have, The stipend is making a huge impact on my life because it made a difference in my life.

The training started on May 2 and will be completed by the end of August. The experience is nice and exciting because we learn a lot from this training provided. I am excited to see what the future holds.
