Roosevelt High School U15s vs De La Salle Holy Cross College High School

Roosevelt High School escaped through the eye of a needle when it managed to score and beat De La Salle Holy Cross College High School – two minutes before the end of the match.

Both teams played a very challenging game against each other, with a score of 12 for De La Salle and 10 for Roosevelt during the first half.

This put pressure on Roosevelt as they had to play hard to win the game. The match took place at the Pirates Rugby Stadium and people came in numbers to support their schools.

“I’m happy that we won, it was a stressful game, but I’m glad and excited,” said Roosevelt High captain, O`Neil Terblanche.

War cries echoed across the stadium to support the teams.

“The character that these guys showed is unbelievable, because we won in the last two minutes, so it’s an amazing feeling,” said Roosevelt’s U-15 coach, Kobus Venter.

The game was fun but tough and challenging at the same time, as players competed for the league championship that had been planned for a few weeks, and emotions ran high.

“I’m glad that the boys brought their A-game; I’m proud of them,” said De La Salle’s coach, Sifiso Phakathi.

After the game, both teams shook hands as a symbol of respect and appreciation for each other.
