I’m not going to lie, the year started out rough with my mother’s recent passing. I had to prepare myself for the year ahead.
The day finally came, the first of my high school journey. Personally, I was wound up and scared. I was also astonished to see all the sympathetic and spectacular minds in my class.
Not to mention the compassionate, as well as inspiring educators I have been honoured to have.
At first, my fellow peers were shy and nervous of one another, just as I once was.
The same could be said about my class teachers, but now we all respect, love and appreciate one another like brothers and sisters.
More than two months later I am back and better than ever. It is all thanks to my extraordinary teachers, thoughtful friends, and most importantly, my supportive family – my aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Lastly, what I have learned in these few months is to never doubt yourself, no matter what circumstances you are faced with.
