SCP Security gives their overview of 2022

Next year brings hope for growth and continued success as SCP fights crime and collaborates with police and local organisations for sustainable solutions to help communities thrive.

As 2022 draws to a close, Clive Maher, founder of SCP Security said, “I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of SCP Security to thank all our members and residents for their support and reiterate our continued commitment to keeping your community safe.”

Maher gives his overview of 2022 in the following message to our readers:

As South Africans, we’ve faced many challenges this year and seen a dramatic increase in criminal activity, with
load-shedding compounding security concerns and the interest rates hiking at a worrying level.

Together, we have risen to challenges and faced the uncertainties 2022 brought with courage, determination, and a spirit of Ubuntu, a truly South African ethos.

SCP Security went about their daily and nightly work with professionalism and determination, often putting themselves in harm’s way to protect the lives of others.

This year has again demonstrated that security is not simply a business looking after its overhead costs or a compliance activity.

Dependable, well-trained, professional and community-driven security such as SCP Security is essential to keeping our loved ones, family,
friends, children, colleagues, property
and more, safer.

Whether you were witness to the extraordinary and stand-out acts of bravery or support from SCP Security or heard via reports of the quiet heroism of the SCP Security guards, one thing is certain – we remain steadfast in our commitment to safeguarding residents and business owners every day of the year without fail.

Another arm of our work of which we are extremely proud is that of aligning ourselves to collaborating with and supporting the many unsung heroes in civil society. Without community organisations assisting the less fortunate, cleaning up our green spaces and providing help and support via residents associations, CPFs and more, our neighbourhoods would be left wanting. The volunteers of these groups deserve the highest accolades.

We also remember those within the security sector who have been caught in the crossfires or those who lost their lives with honour and paid the ultimate price for all of our safety and protection.

The year 2023 brings hope for the future and an acknowledgment that the shape and size of the sector and workforce within SCP Security has and will continue to grow from strength to strength. We are proud to work with an industry that has risen to this year’s challenges and has demonstrated its commitment to protecting the public.

Whatever the future holds, we share a dedication to quality and the pursuit of best practices in the security industry. On behalf of everyone at SCP Security, and with a deep appreciation for your support this year, thank you all.

Wishing you all happy holidays and to those celebrating, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
