Two murders in one day shock community of Westbury

Police urge members of the public to come forward if they have any information relating to the killings.

Two unrelated murders occurred in Westbury on the same day at the end of last month.

Sophiatown Police Station spokesperson Captain TJ de Bruyn said, “Police were called to a crime scene in an open field where a male body was found burnt beyond recognition.”

He said it was suspected he was murdered because the victim was found with wire tied around his neck and his hands tied behind his back. The motive was still unknown and a case of murder had been opened.
