Greymont resident Keshnie Mathi nominated for 2023 Women of Stature Award
The awards recognise women making a difference in South Africa in a way that benifits the vulnerable.
Keshnie Mathi is the Founder of The Wellness Specialist which is a company that offers wellness counselling, coaching and training in the areas of entrepreneurship, small business development, counsellor and educator development, inclusive education and women in agriculture.
“It is a huge honour to be nominated in this category because coaching and mentoring is so needed for people to succeed. Everyone has a dream and a talent but might not have the ability to know how to use their gifts into a space where they can monetise it in order to survive. Having someone walk alongside them to help reach their goals is a privilege. Especially in South Africa where resources are tight.”

As a nominee of the awards, she has chosen the Woman Rise Programme as the beneficiary of the funds that she raises. They help women who are struggling in business due to various practical restrictions but also because of trauma. Funds will go directly to the organisation and will be used for woman entrepreneurs who are facing challenges in setting up their businesses or growing their businesses due to financial, emotional, spiritual or training and coaching related needs.
She will be hands on with this project and hopes to raise enough money to be able to support at least five women to reach their goals.
She has also been honoured with various nominations including the Woman of the Year Awards in 2021 and the Lotus FM Woman of Substance Awards in 2022. She is currently busy with her master’s degree in Social Work and Wellness and has also done post graduate studies in Public Health.
