What absolutely drives pure passion out of local youth, Mariska Naidoo?

One such passion for me is reading.
Reading is only a part of the arousing nature that books offer. From the wearing of elegant and tasteful jackets towering in an unsculptured landscape. The enticing smell as well as the crispness of its pages. The dizzying pleasure knocks you off your feet into a land of wonder. Not to mention how the insatiable craving for more brings you to your knees, begging for more.

One bite of this possesses you forever. Books offer promise, the growing anticipation of what lay before you, waiting to be found, and the ability to reverse time to the moment it all started. The hidden notes and flowers stuck in time, the only soul ever to see you as you are. The spills of coffee, tears, laughter, sighs, and yawns, all archived away, frozen in time.

Reading not only brings peace and insight to individuals but brings connectivity to the world. It allows individuals to communicate with each other even if there is no courage or strength. It’s the anonymous friend that hears you out and soothes your worries and shares your pains and grievances while it gives you strength and courage. It is a place that allows you to grow and explore new worlds.
