Radford House get their hands dirty

Some of the school's learners volunteered their time to help clean up the neighbourhood.

Radford House chose to be part of the change they want to see in their community when they spent time helping the Community Cleaners.

On September 10 and 17, learners volunteered to join the Community Cleaners for a clean-up in the area. The children worked enthusiastically and had fun doing it and their efforts made a real difference while also being an excellent learning experience for them.

Community Cleaners is a community-based organisation that does weekly clean-ups of parks, streets, and open areas in Fairland, Northcliff and surrounds. This organisation started as a small group of residents concerned about the deteriorating state of public areas, and the fact that residents no longer used them because of safety and hygiene concerns.

It has since grown into a large group of civic-minded residents that makes it possible for community members to use their open spaces again. The organisation is 100% self-funded, relying on private donations and volunteers to keep doing their good work.
