The Linden CPF has held successful elections after successful elections

The committee and Linden police have renewed their commitment to work together to reduce crime in the precinct.

The Linden CPF executive committee elections took place on September 6, 2022, at the Linden Police Station.

Following a series of community engagements for each of the four sectors, the community was requested to become involved and join the CPF either as a committee member or as Community In Blue Patroller. The meetings also served to inform residents about the CPF’s legal framework, structure, roles, and current projects.

Station Commander Colonel Shaid Abdool highlighted that fighting crime is far more effective when it is done as a partnership.

He said, “The partnership is the strongest when all partners are involved, like SAPS, accredited security companies, and the Community Sector Forums. CPFs were established under the South African Police Act of 1995 and are an essential part of each police station to have it up and running effectively.”

Representatives from the Gauteng Community Policing Board and the Department of Community Safety were responsible for the electoral process.

The executive committee was elected by the sector sub-form committees of each sector, being the electorate.
