Walking through the Bible

The school hosted audiences to one of kind production that saw them walk through various Bible scenes.

Northwest Christian School took audiences through a one-of-a-kind experience as they hosted its production Walk through the Bible.

Ezette Olivier, the school’s academic principal said they were very excited to host audiences to the school’s first major production since 2019. The production was the brainchild of one of the school’s community members.

Instead of having it in a hall, the production was held all around the school in various locations. For the evening, teachers were tour guides who dressed up like Bible characters and led groups around the school to see each scene. In some scenes, there were also live animals including a goat and a few chickens.

“One of the biggest hits,” said Olivier referring to the animal scenes, adding on the day the goat arrived he escaped from his pen and all the teachers had to work together to get him back into the enclosure. “This caused a lot of excitement in the school.”

Scenes of the nativityJoseph and the coat of many colours, David and Goliath, Jonah and the whale, and Noah’s Ark were acted out by the Grade 6s and 7s and formed part of the 13 scenes staged around the school.

“They each had a poem they read that told each story and incorporated into the scenes were some great props made by parents and teachers which was quite phenomenal to see it all come together.”

As this will be the Grade 7’s last year, it was even more special for them to be part of this production. “For two and half years, many of our children couldn’t be part of a production or other special occasions and now they have the privilege of being part of such again.”
