Potholes fixed after questions sent to JRA about potholes near Westpark Cemetery

The Northcliff Melville Times questioned JRA which resulted in the roads agency fixing the dangerous potholes.

The state of the road leading past Westpark Cemetery has been described by one resident as a ‘total sign of disrespect’.

Westpark Road is much travelled on, leading to and from the cemetery, and was in a desperate state of disrepair.

This until Northcliff Melville Times contacted Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) spokesperson, Kelebogile Mafa for comment on when it would be repaired.

“The potholes along Westpark Road were a sign of total disrespect. The trip itself is not a pleasant experience for many as they might be travelling there to bury a loved one,” said Montgomery Park resident, Patricia Noble

Mafa, when contacted with questions for this article, confirmed that an inspector would be sent out to assess the condition of the road. While no feedback was received from her, the road was quickly repaired.

“I want to thank you for your help as the potholes have been fixed, Thank you for being our voice and for sharing our concerns with the city,” said Noble.
