Watch: Fire rips through parts of the Auckland Park Country Club

Luckily, emergency services managed to evacuate all staff members.

Smoke bellowed into the Johannesburg skyline as a fire blazed at the Auckland Park Country Club.

Reports received on September 10 at around 16:00 stated that a fire was rampant at the well-known luxury country club.

Emergency services work well into the dark hours to ensure the flames are extinguished.

Journalists from the Northcliff Melville Times at the club report that smoke can still be seen coming from the property.

Johannesburg Emergency Service’s spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi confirmed that Coj EMS are on the scene attending to the blaze which was contained to the reception and dining area.

He added that no injuries have been reported as yet (17:42) and that all staff members were evacuated.

The mammoth task of putting out the flames was only possible with teamwork. The collaboration between Coj EMS and private security helped to keep the flames contained.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
