What’s on at Marks Park Sports Club

Here are some of the sports that you can find at the sports complex.

It’s time to slowly dust off those winter blues and valiantly head to your local sports club, much like Marks Park Sports Club. All this, with the ambition to get into a sport that will add some much-needed adrenalin to your life.

There is so much to do at Marks Park – here are just a few sports clubs you can be part of.

    • Archery
      Marks Park Archery Club has Johannesburg’s largest archery range, with 32 competition-standard target butts on a 130m range. They are one of the oldest archery clubs in Johannesburg, with a history reaching back to the 60s.

    • Croquet
      As a group they wandered through the city for years, ending up at Marks Park some years ago. They have since grown nicely, with players from seven to over 90 years old.

    • Bears Wrestling Club
      This club says wrestling develops courage, determination, attitude, strength, and discipline and allows one to have fun. They are very excited to introduce the community to one of the oldest sports in the world.

    • MTG Fighting Fit Central
      They have been in operation in the area since 2005 and at Marks Park since 2011. FFC is owned and operated by Master Norman Magua, 7th Dan, with his team.

    • Kettle Bells
      They offer a unique fitness experience that revolves around kettlebells, bodyweight exercises, and a few other innovative tools. Their mission is explained as a simple way to help people become fitter, stronger, more powerful, and boost your endurance, all while enjoying your fitness journey.

    • Marks Park Mustangs
      They adopted the name of MP Mustangs Baseball Section. Though they initially had four senior teams and a host of junior teams, they unfortunately have no juniors at this stage – a fate suffered by most baseball clubs. Currently, they have two senior teams and a complete Japanese team.
