The school’s Tessa Turvey described this hub as a dynamic space designed for young minds to flourish by ‘utilising Lego to cultivate essential cognitive skills and emotional and social intelligence’. She added that making education enjoyable not only helps learners develop a lasting love for learning but also instils time-management skills as they navigate through various tasks.

The hub’s aim is to enhance learning in mathematics, science, and engineering through hands-on, creative play. “The hub is more than just a space filled with bricks; it’s a dedicated environment for students to explore, create, and learn,” said Turvey.
The concept focuses on simplicity and versatility, leveraging the fundamental design of Lego bricks to promote various learning activities. It goes beyond stacking blocks, fostering collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and resilience, laying the foundation for lifelong learning.

Importantly, the Lego Hub is meant to serve as a valuable resource for teaching children as the hands-on and collaborative nature of activities are meant to enhance not only cognitive skills but also fine and gross motor skills, sensory integration, and executive functioning. Along with this, the positive and engaging environment is said to promote a sense of achievement, contributing to their overall skills development, emotional regulation, and building confidence as they learn.
