Wits Juniors secure away win

Wits U17 displayed their dominance on Matchday 22 of the Gauteng Development League, securing a convincing victory against Randburg AFC.

On Matchday 22 of the Gauteng Development League (GDL), Wits Juniors U17 faced off against Randburg AFC in an away match at the Randburg Sports Complex.

In the first half, Wits established their dominance by taking a commanding two goal lead, with both goals from wingers, Emmanuel Ndaba and Katlego Moalosi.

Despite Randburg having opportunities to decrease the deficit and get back into the game, they were unable to convert their chances into goals.

As the teams regrouped during halftime, Randburg faced an uphill battle in the second half. In the 76th minute, Wits U17 extended their lead to 3–0 through a well-executed pass by Philane Mfeka, who played it through on the right side, assisting Obinna Ogbanna, and putting the game to bed.

The goal showcased Wits’ skillful play and their ability to capitalise on opportunities.

Despite trailing with a significant goal margin, the home team did not lose heart and continued to fight for a comeback. They had their fair share of chances but were unable to convert them into goals, ultimately falling short in their attempts to claw their way back into the game.

Wits displayed confidence in their abilities throughout the match. Mfeka, in particular, showcased his skills on the field, playing with defenders and making crucial contributions to the team and walking away with an assist.

The match proved to be a one-sided affair, with Wits dominating throughout and securing a convincing victory.

The entire team demonstrated their proficiency in making crucial passes that helped secure the well-deserved three points, elevating their standing in the league table.

Wits Junior U17’s assistant coach, Mido Ntsewa, was happy with his teams performance to secure a much needed away win. “From my side, I am happy we collected all three points, I would like to thank my coaches for pushing the boys and helping each other together. We always tell the boys to trust and believe in the process.”
