Hoërskool Linden’s winning streak continues

The rugby team from Hoërskool Linden remains undefeated, storming through the SDC Noordvaal Cup. Unleashing their exceptional skills, they seized and secured a spot in the semi-finals after a remarkable comeback.

The First XV rugby team of Hoërskool Linden has proven to be an unstoppable force throughout their Golden Lions League campaign, remaining undefeated and carrying their winning momentum into the SDC Noordvaal Cup.

As the highest-ranked team from the Golden Lions in Section 3, Linden has continued to dominate their opponents, securing victories against Hoërskool Oosterland in Secunda and Hoërskool Erasmus from Bronkhorstspruit in Pretoria.

In their recent match against Erasmus, Linden found themselves trailing by 8–13 at halftime. However, their flyhalf and captain, Francois Steyn, had managed to cross the try-line, keeping the team’s spirits high.

Linden regrouped during the halftime break and focused on executing their game plan in the second half. This strategic approach paid off as they began converting their structured play into points.

Winger Ruben Little, flanker Keatin Carlse, and outside centre Jeandré Müller all contributed with tries, leading Linden to a final score of 26 points against Erasmus’s 17.

Hoerskool Linden kept their ground in defence.

With this impressive win, Linden now advances to the semifinals of the SDC Noordvaal Cup.

They will face Hoërskool Bergvlam in Mbombela on August 3, in a highly anticipated match which will determine if they will have a place in the Noordvaal Final on Saturday, August 17th.

Linden gave it their all to secure a semi-final spot.

The coaching team, led by head of sport Rúan Basson and Martin Henning, expressed their gratitude and pride in the team’s successful season thus far.

“We acknowledge the hard work that lies ahead in preparation for the upcoming semifinal against Bergvlam, acknowledging that our opponents will be fired up, playing at home. Despite the challenges that await them, we, as coaches, are confident in our team’s abilities, and are determined to continue their winning streak.”
