Roosevelt High School shines at Enviro Science Fair

Discover the exceptional scientific achievements of learners from Roosevelt High School at the Enviro Science Fair hosted by Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo.

Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo (JCPZ) has partnered with Eskom Expo for Young Scientists to organise its first-ever Enviro Science Fair at the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens.

Roosevelt High School made a mark at the expo with six of their learners displaying their scientific prowess.

Inathi Ndondo (Grade 11) and Oluwatominsin Akerele (Grade 10) won achieved gold at the Eskom Expo.

The expo provided a platform for young scientists to present their research projects and findings. Chesrey Waterson, a Grade 9 learner, along with Khusela Ncityana and Audrey Vengasai, both in Grade 11, achieved silver medals for their outstanding projects.

Oluwatominsin Akerele, a Grade 10 learner, and Inathi Ndondo, also in Grade 11, were awarded gold medals for their exceptional scientific investigations.

The Regional Eskom Expo for Young Scientists aims to foster a deeper understanding of the environment and encourage learners to address challenges in their communities. By participating in the expo, these young scientists have demonstrated their commitment to driving a greener and more sustainable future.

Audrey Vengasai (Grade 11), Chesrey Waterson (Grade 9) and Khusela Ncityana (Grade 11) achieved silver.

The achievements of these learners reflect the dedication and hard work put in by both the learners and their educators at Roosevelt High School. The school takes pride in nurturing young minds and providing them with opportunities to explore their scientific interests.

The Regional Eskom Expo for Young Scientists is a stepping stone for learners to participate in the prestigious International Science Fair, where they will compete against the best young scientists from around the country and the world.
