Engen Knockout Challenge crowns Gauteng provincial champions.

Kaizer Chiefs emerged victorious in the highly anticipated Engen Knockout Challenge on Sunday, July 7, at Wits Marks Park stadium. The tournament which showed the immense talent of 32 teams, took place from July 5–7, featuring fierce competition in the U18 boys’ and U20 girls’ divisions.

Martial arts brothers win at SA Champs

Emmarentia residents, brothers Miles and Hugo Cantrell won gold medals in judo and karate respectively. Earlier this month, Miles (12), who trains at Windsor Glen-based Hajime Judo Academy, won a gold medal at the National Schools South African Championship for Judo held at the University of Bloemfontein in the U55kg division for 12-year-olds.

Pillay plans to give his all at the Paris Olympics 2024

The Paris Olympics 2024 will see Lythe Pillay run laps towards hope for the gold as he will soon take part in the men’s 400m sprint as well as the 4x400m relay. Drawn to the sport for its raw competitiveness, he has participated in the sport since he was introduced to it when he was in primary school. He credits athletics for having given him the ‘what you put in is what you get out’ approach to all that he does. “I love the idea that my only limit is the amount of effort I put into a target or goal.”
