Pin Pals bowling league sets the lanes ablaze

The Pin Pals Bowling League was on fire as the Monday league matches showcased impressive scorelines, and lit up the lanes.

The Pin Pals bowling league showcased its commitment to good competition and sportsmanship, even with two of its bowlers busy representing the country at the African Zone Championship. Despite their absence, the league demonstrated its depth as several bowlers achieved impressive average scores of over 200, despite the challenging change in the oiling pattern for the new month.

Leading the pack was George Jagga from Turkey Hunters, who displayed exceptional skill with scores of 221, 257, and 205, resulting in an impressive 227 scratch average. Niraj Desai, from Breaking Bad, also showcased his talent, achieving scores of 237, 205, and 206, with a scratch average of 216.

Craig Matheson, from the Turkey Hunters, followed closely with scores of 206, 232, and 198, resulting in a 212 scratch average. Andrew Strydom, from The Lane Rangers, demonstrated consistent performance with scores of 191, 214, and 218, achieving a scratch average of 207. Additionally, Brett Pheiffer, from Bowling Thunder, displayed his bowling prowess with scores of 214, 181, and 222, resulting in a 206 scratch average.

In terms of team points, the Monday league scorelines saw Strike Force striking 38, The Lane Rangers with 2, Spare Me with 26.5, Marvelous with 13.5, Go Nads with 15, Balbarians with 25, Breaking Bad were bad on the lanes with 12, Turkey Hunters with 28, Bowling Thunder 28, Bowling Thunder with 11, and Wrecking Ball with 29.

The bowlers also utilised the Monday night league as practice for the upcoming Central Gauteng Ten-Pin Bowling Association Closed Championship. The points accumulated in these championships will play a crucial role in determining the selection of the team for the upcoming Interprovincial Championships, scheduled for October, which will benefit the bowlers by being able to representing Central Gauteng on a national level.

South Africa also emerged victorious at the African Zone Championships, securing qualification for the IBF World Championships. This accomplishment further highlights the talent and skill present within the South African bowling community, as they prepare to compete on a global stage. The local bowling league continues to foster an environment of healthy competition and sportsmanship, showcasing the dedication and passion of its participants.
