A Brixton braai that kept the winter blues at bay

This vibrant group of community members enjoyed an afternoon together where they shared meals and stories.

In an empty alleyway quietly tucked away in Brixton, the roaring laughter of its community members could be heard filling it.

Though it would be poetic to say ‘strangers became friends’ in a community like this one, its members were never really strangers, but friends instantly made. So it was fitting that a braai, hosted by the Brixton Community Forum, be held as a way to continue building on this ‘communityship’, as it were.

It was a glorious winter afternoon as food was shared and memories were made.
