Beagle Watch blazes the trail in our communities

The armed response will now have a Fire Ops SA emergency response centre at their office.

Beagle Watch armed response has added a dedicated emergency response centre for Fire Ops SA at the company’s Fairland head office.

The centre, which is called Fire Ops SA Patch 3, is said to mark an innovative way of enhancing the two companies’ offering to Beagle Watch clients and the city’s residents.

“In December 2021, Beagle Watch was the first private security provider in Johannesburg to offer its clients a free subscription to a private firefighting company as an added-value benefit,” said André Aiton, managing director of Beagle Watch.

This was in response to the sharp increase in domestic fire emergencies and the strain under which municipal firefighting services were in responding to emergencies.

“We believe in offering our clients an extensive service offering and support beyond ‘just’ home security,” says Aiton.
In 2020, the company therefore introduced priority access for its clients to emergency medical support through its partners, Netcare 911, and then concluded a deal with Fire Ops SA, at the time, the first of its kind in the industry.

“Beagle Watch pays a subscription to Fire Ops SA for each and every client to ensure they have access to the best private firefighting support in Johannesburg. This is at no extra cost to clients as part of our commitment to ensure clients’ overall safety.”

A dedicated response site is to be a further extension of this service offering. “Fire Ops SA personnel will be responding from our offices around the clock, which will ensure even faster and more efficient response times to fire emergencies in the area.

“Over the past two years, Fire Ops has dealt with close on 60 fire emergencies at our clients alone.

“Response time is of the essence. In as little as 30 seconds, a small flame can turn into a major fire, and it only takes minutes for thick, black smoke to fill a house or for it to be engulfed in flames.”

From when the call comes into their watch room, Fire Ops SA’s standard response time is around 60 seconds to dispatch during daylight hours and 90 seconds dispatch at night. “Adding another patch to service our footprint will give our clients even greater peace of mind.”
