SCP Security’s Santa Clause

The Glowworm School erupted with joy when Father Christmas arrived on a massive firetruck to give gifts to the little learners.

SCP Security has been busy visiting schools in the weeks since they launched their private fire, search, and rescue fire truck.

The interventions have aimed to teach learners about fire safety and to give local children an opportunity to climb on board, learn about the truck’s capabilities, and have some fun.

Joy Nel is the owner of the little school and asked SCP if they could conspire with her to get gifts she had purchased for the children delivered a little differently this year.

Jaun van der Westhuizen from SCP says, “We decided to get Santa to deliver the amazing gifts for the children. We couldn’t get Rudolph but think our truck had a bigger impact which was incredible.”

The lights were flashing and sirens blazing as we pulled up to the school. “The children were excited enough at the fire truck, but when Santa appeared they broke out into singing, clapping, and disbelief.”

“We loved doing this. The line of work we are in is sometimes quite stressful so to be involved in something that brought so much joy to our neighbourhood was wonderful for us too. It was a small gesture but something that was so big for the children and they loved it.”

As a thank you, the children handed SCP Security staff members pictures that they had coloured in themselves to say thank you. “That was very special. We won’t forget this anytime soon, and neither will the children. I am sure.”
