Sundowns and Chiefs ready for the titanic MTN 8 clash

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rhulani Mokwena opts not to touch the trophy saying they will only touch it when they win it.

Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki believes seven times in a row league champions Mamelodi Sundowns are beatable; if one can carefully identify and exploit their weaknesses and capitalise on them.

Ntseki, a former Bafana Bafana coach, made these remarks when he addressed a media conference at the headquarters of the Premier Soccer League ahead of his side’s MTN 8 first-leg semi-final clash at the FNB Stadium on September 2.

“They may have won the league seven times in a row but that does not make them immune to beatings from other teams and in this case Kaizer Chiefs. All we need to do is to carefully examine their weaknesses and exploit them and we are home and dry.

“I am not going to divulge those weaknesses here or else this will fall into their ears, and they rectify, and I lose out. All I can tell this platform is that we will endeavour to exploit those weak points to our advantage… come Saturday,” the AmaKhosi Amahle mentor said.
Buoyed by the two wins in a row from AmaZulu and Stellenbosch, Ntseki hopes the boys will be in high spirits and motivated enough to produce a positive result in this MTN 8 clash.

“I will not allow myself to be side-tracked by comments and decisions by Bafana coach [Hugo Broos] not to select my players into his squad. I have also been a Bafana coach before, but I don’t remember anyone giving us [Chiefs] a template to say this is how your players should play in order for me to select them.

“I am not going to dwell on that as I was not present when he made those remarks but all I can say and do is to ensure that I prepare the team well for this crucial encounter with Sundowns if we want to be triumphant,” Ntseki said.

Masanbdawana coach Rhulani Mokwena said he was prepared for the titanic clash and declined an offer from PSL media officer Fhatuwani Mpfuni to touch the trophy, saying they [technical staff and players] will touch it when we win it.
