New leaders take the helm at De La Salle Holy Cross College

De La Salle Holy Cross College's new leaders share on the sort of leaders they envisage to be.

Since they were in Grade R, Isabella Manas and Diego de Abreu have been at De La Salle Holy Cross College.

In their early years at the school, they probably approached each day with eager anticipation to meet friends and learn great new things the world had to offer to them.

Little did they know that their eagerness to make friends, their desire to learn new things as well as them being active members of their school community, would lead them both to become head boy and girl. A role that they were both undoubtedly destined to fulfil.

Looking esteemed in their red blazers, the pair sat down with Northcliff Melville Times and shared on this great new role.

In his capacity as head boy, Diego hoped he would, through his behaviour, inspire those in younger grades to want to be a leader at the school. “Becoming the best version of yourself is something I hold dear to my heart,” he said, adding he hoped his leadership style would inspire others to step out of their shells.

Being head girl, Isabella noted the importance of approaching big decisions with diplomacy. “We were not put in these positions just to make decisions for people, we have to take people’s ideas into account.” She realises the importance of giving others respect and having good time management.
