Security company warns residents of car thefts in Northcliff and surrounds

The theft of SUVs and bakkies is growing in Northcliff and surrounding areas.

Beagle Watch Armed Response has warned the community of a sharp rise in the theft of high-end SUVs and bakkies, especially Toyota Fortuner and Hilux models.

Beagle Watch managing director André Aiton said, “This is a growing trend across our footprint, but is especially prevalent in the Northcliff, Fairland and Berario footprint.”

Incidents of theft have mainly occurred around residential complexes or when vehicles were parked in the street, at social gatherings, sports events and around schools.

Beagle Watch provided the following safety tips: 

Never leave any valuables, such as laptops, phones or handbags, in the vehicle.
