222 blanket collected for Diepsloot

The blankets were collected by a Grade 9 King David Victory Park learner and his mother.

A King David Victory Park learner collected 222 blankets for the Diepsloot community.

It took two months for Grade 9 learner Adam Lapedus and his mother to collect these blankets for the intention of handing them over to the women and children of that community.

According the school’s marketing coordinator, Nirvana Rogers, Lapedus really wanted blanket collection for people who couldn’t afford one. “Since his mother had worked with the Diepsloot youth programme for the past three years, it was the perfect opportunity to do so,” said Rogers.

She added that the pairs efforts resulted in the collection of 222 thanks to non-profit organisation, Warm The World and their personal connections. The distribution of the blankest recently took place in Diepsloot. “We are so proud of Adam who put his heart and soul into the collection and spread such joy by handing it out,” concluded Rogers.
