Randburg police warn of bogus cops

Remain vigilant when travelling along the N1 Highway between Malibongwe and William Nicol drives, says Randburg police, following a concerning number of hijackings.

Motorists are encouraged to remain vigilant when travelling along the N1 Highway between Malibongwe and William Nicol drives following a concerning number of hijackings involving suspects impersonating police officers.

According to a statement by Randburg Police Station spokesperson Captain Makgowanyana Maja, on behalf of Station Commander Brigadier Michelle Jones, the Randburg policing precinct has noted a number of incidents involving two to four suspects using vehicles with a blue light.

“Victims are held against their will and dropped off in different areas around Gauteng.”
