Parkview police patrol leads to arrest in Emmarentia

While crime prevention duties were being conducted, a suspect was arrested for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Parkview police arrested a man for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Emmarentia.

According to the spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, the 21-year-old was arrested on April 9 while the police were patrolling the precinct. “They stopped a vehicle with four occupants. All four [occupants] were searched and one of them was found in possession of a revolver 38 special and two live [rounds of] ammunition.”

She added the suspect failed to produce a firearm licence and was arrested.
The suspect appeared in Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on April 11 to answer on charges of possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
