Donations needed to construct another course way at Delta Park

Can you spare R50 a month for Delta Park maintenance?

Delta Park is one of Johannesburg’s biggest green lungs, beautiful and loved by children and adults.

According to Shirley Tebbutt who has been overseeing the park for more than 25 years, a causeway was built alongside the river for cars to drive on 18 years ago. Unfortunately, as time passed the causeway got destroyed.

“I built the causeway old concrete walling, and now it’s all mud because of one of the natural springs, which used to trickle but is now coming out like a hosepipe,” Tebbutt said.

She added they intended to construct another causeway and install pipes to direct water from the natural spring to its correct course. However, they couldn’t start now as they have to wait until the ground is dry.

“I always ask people who use the park if they can spare R50 per month for maintenance as we have to do everything ourselves, and bricks donations will be a great value.”
