Learners collect and donate sanitary products for World Women’s Day

NORTHCLIFF – School pledges their continued support through the rest of the year.

Abbotts College Northcliff hosted a drive to collect feminine hygiene products for their peers and other learners from less-fortunate schools as part of their International Women’s Day celebrations on March 8.

Led by the school’s Student Representative Council (SRC), they visited and shared the products with Kingsway Christian School. According to the principal of Abbotts College Northcliff, Izak Stander, the council handed over the donation to the Grade 6 and 7 girls of the school and proceeded to spend the day with them.

Abbotts College Northcliff also pledged its ongoing support to the management of Kingsway Christian School in 2022.

The learners will be embarking on another drive soon to gather non-perishable goods, which will help the school maintain the kitchen they run daily to feed the learners.

Stander said, “I’m most proud of our SRC for their student-led initiative and all the students donating to this worthy and valuable cause. It is heart-warming to see our learners living up to the Abbotts College values of respect, caring, transparency, honesty, integrity, accountability, and responsibility where they are caring for the wider community.”
