Volunteers take part in the annual helpers run in aid of Marang House

GREENSIDE – Marang House is also the beneficiary of the annual Pirates Charity Hat Run and relies solely on the donations of the public.

Over 150 volunteers took part in the annual Pirates Helpers Run on February 19 in aid of Marang House in Northcliff.

The group of volunteers are made up of Pirates members and helpers from Manoni, Old Eds and Varsity Kudus Running Clubs.

Chair of Pirates Road Running Gerry Greyling said, “Every year, these runners get together on the Saturday before the race for what is known as the Helpers’ Run. This year was no different with runners taking to the streets in the pouring rain to go over the mountain, that Pirates runners affectionately call Northcliff Hill.”

Greyling explained that the helpers also organised a food drive for Marang House – a home for four to 14-year-old children in need of expensive medical care.

Marang House is also the beneficiary of the annual Pirates Charity Hat Run and relies solely on the donations of the public.
