Utilise Pikitup’s free bulky waste collection service

JOBURG – The types of bulky waste that can be collected directly from households through this service includes old mattresses, old furniture, disused or old fridges, and other electric and non-electric items.

Residents are encouraged to become active participants of preserving and protecting the environment by utilising Pikitup’s free bulky waste collection service for any unwanted household waste.

According to spokesperson Muzi Mkhwanazi, with this service the municipal entity aims to divert recyclable waste away from landfill sites, thus increasing the lifespan of the landfill.

“This service has been introduced with the main objective of trying to deal with illegal dumping which is an eyesore and an environmental problem in all the seven regions of the City.”
