JRA warns about the circulation of false information

JOBURG – Curb misinformation by reporting suspicious messages to the JRA helpline on 011 298 5000.

The JRA warns the public about the circulation of false information claiming the agency will be receiving job applications via a database system in the south of Johannesburg.

According to a statement by the JRA, false information has been circulating through voice messages on social media platforms.

The JRA said, “The JRA does not receive or process job applications outside of its HR processes which include the advertisement of vacancies on selected newspapers, the JRA and City of Johannesburg websites, as well as circulation through its internal communications.”

The JRA said that for hand-delivered submissions, a legitimate vacancy advert will include the JRA’s head office address (75 Helen Joseph Street and Corner Harrison Street, Johannesburg (2001)), or a recruitment email address for the attention of HR’s personnel and contact numbers.

“The JRA remains committed to fair recruitment processes and does not have alternative systems that place other members of the public at an unfair advantage to others.”

“The JRA cautions members of the public to be aware of this false message and to refrain from further distributing it to others.”

The public are encouraged to curb misinformation pertaining to the JRA by reporting suspicious messages to the JRA office telephone helpline on 011 298 5000.
