Kids read aloud #WorldReadAloudDay

VICTORY PARK – The junior school recently participated in World Read Aloud day and everyone got involved.

Do you know why the first Wednesday of February could arguably be one of the year’s most magical days?

It’s because this day is recognised as World Read Aloud Day and we all know what happens when you read, you’re transported to a world only your imagination could create.

To mark this day, De La Salle Holy Cross College Junior School too honoured the global literacy movement said to celebrate the power of stories and highlight the importance of reading to children all over the world.

On the day, the school had children from varying grades read to each other.

The aims to foster a strong culture of reading and through this, they hope to encourage learners and parents to give the gift of reading by donating books as part of their ongoing outreach projects for the year.
