Suspects, vehicles and guns apprehended

JAN HOFMEYER – Investigations into police's flying squad's previous weekends arrests and discoveries continue.

Johannesburg Flying Squad arrested two suspects, recovered three vehicles and one firearm with ammunition between January 21 and 24.

According to Senior Personnel Officer (SPO) Raymond Sambo, of the two suspects arrested, one was for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition while the other was for being in possession of drugs.

Sambo added, “One firearm recovered, a .38 special with ammunition, was booked at SAP 13. Among the vehicles recovered were a white Ford Figo and a white Toyota Corolla that were robbed from the owners and a white Ford Bantam bakkie that was stolen.”

Sambo said that investigations into all these matters are being conducted and pleaded that the community continues to work with them. “Working together with the community led to these recoveries. The police appreciate the public for their contribution.”

The suspects were aged between 25 and 30 and will be facing charges of possession of firearms and ammunition and possession of drugs.
