Five arrested over the weekend by the flying squad
JAN HOFMEYER – A White Hyundai Tucson, a Blue BMW and a White Toyota Yaris was recovered.
The Johannesburg Flying Squad, based in Jan Hofmeyer, had mentionable success over the weekend between January 28 and 31.
According to the unit’s spokesperson Senior Personnel Officer (SPO) Raymond Sambo, the five arrests were for different crimes in Johannesburg while three cars were also recovered.
Sambo said, “Amongst the five suspects arrested, one was for possession of a robbed vehicle, one for murder, one for assault common, one for malicious damage to property and one for theft.
Amongst the vehicles recovered, a White Hyundai Tucson and a Blue BMW that were robbed from the owners and a White Toyota Yaris that was recovered stolen.”
He stated that investigations into all the arrests and recovers are ongoing and thanked the public for their support in reporting crimes. “The police appreciates the public for their contribution. It should also be noted that any information regarding the vehicles, one may contact the relevant detective quoting the relevant case number.”
