Body found at Emmarentia Dam

EMMARENTIA – The Parkveiw Police Station is investigating the matter.

While on patrol within their precinct, Parkview Police Station received a report of a drowning on the corner of Louw Geldenhuys Drive and Olifants Road on January 31.

According to the station’s spokesperson, Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, officers went to the scene and the Water Wing Unit was activated.

The body of an unknown man, said to be in his 40s, was recovered in the dam. “The paramedics were contacted and upon arrival. They certified him dead,” she explained.

The police opened an inquest docket.

The body of the deceased was taken to the Johannesburg government mortuary. Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the police on 08600 10111 or contact Parkview SAPS on 011 067 6000.
