Maluleke said, “We have dedicated and determined investigation officers who will go the extra mile to make sure that a suspect gets the maximum sentence when a crime has been committed and we are very proud of them.”

According to the station’s spokesperson Jeanette Backhoff, a case was opened after Brixton police and security company personnel, accompanied by the homeowner, found the suspect inside a bedroom of the house.

Backhoff added, “The homeowner wasn’t home at the time of the break-in but fortunately the neighbour alerted him as soon as they saw something strange allowing us to take action.”
She hoped that residents would continue to look out for one another and keep each other and their homes safe.
